Coronado Cays Yacht Club Wedding

This Wedding took place at the Coronado Cays Yacht Club in Coronado California.  The groom was a music lover!  While he and I did have a very similar taste in dinner and cocktail music, there were several choices throughout the dancing portion of the evening that I had never heard of, or would never play during a dancing set unless asked to.  Not that they were bad song choices (obviously, because the night was PACKED on the dance floor) it's just that they weren't songs I'd think of to play.

The groom did very well, and truly knew his crowd and his music.  The set turned out really nice, with a lot of great mixes.  The bartenders at the venue thanked me at the end of the night for not playing the same old stuff they hear at every wedding.  As much as I wanted to take the credit, I told them to thank the groom for picking out such a great mix.

The dance set went from east coast hip-hop to indie dance to electro to house, back to 80's and more.  It was a challenge for me, but I actually really enjoyed it and the outcome was a hugely positive success on the dance floor and of course the groom, ecstatic that he heard all of his favorite music, mixed cleanly and professionally :-)
